Did you know?
You maple trees can be affected by a fungus known as Verticillium wilt. This fungus first appears as a yellowing or wilting of individual limbs or portions of the canopy on your maple tree. Trees are most often affected in the mid-summer months after hot, dry weather. This fungus affects a trees ability to move water and nutrients within the tree and attacks the tree’s root system. Olive-brown streaking may appear on the wood of infected branches and trees infected with this disease often have thin canopies exhibiting leaf discoloration. Maple trees that have already suffered damage from drought or other causes are thought to be more susceptible to this disease.
